Job Summary
Provides cleaning and sanitizing services to support a safe, clean and welcoming environment. Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, offices, clinics, clinical and procedural areas, and public spaces. Supports patient safety through consistent and high-quality service. Demonstrates ability to support the cleaning and disinfection of high-acuity clinical and procedural areas. Applies disinfection protocols and utilizes approved cleaning tools in accordance with infection control standards and hospital policy. Conducts hazardous and biohazardous waste removal in compliance with safety regulations and infection prevention protocols. Proactively communicates and collaborates with clinical teams to ensure cleaning processes support patient safety and care flow.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred
- No previous experience required
- Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by environment or regulations
- Able to stand for long periods
- Able to reach, squat, bend, carry and lift supplies and equipment up to 80% of the time
- Ability to operate light floor cleaning equipment in patient care areas
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to clean areas requiring technical cleaning including IR/Cardiac Cath/Mother-Baby/NICU/OR/ED
