Job Summary
Lead and manage complex ESIA projects across Africa with a specific focus on Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) processes in Egypt. Oversee multidisciplinary teams, coordinate ESIA report preparation, facilitate public and stakeholder engagement, and liaise with regulators (including EEAA) to ensure compliance with national and international standards (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, World Bank Safeguards). Requires 8+ years in mining/renewables/infrastructure, and a B.Sc. (Hons) or Masters in Environmental/Natural Sciences. Travel within the Middle East and Africa. Proficient in English and Arabic; strong report writing, budgeting, and client liaison skills. Must be able to translate/localize documents and manage timelines and budgets. Demonstrates ability to work with clients, regulators, and diverse stakeholders and lead proposals. SLR emphasizes diversity and inclusion and a collaborative culture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: Over 8 years experience within the mining, renewables and/or infrastructure sectors
- B.Sc. (Hons) or Masters in Environmental or Natural Sciences or similar qualification
- Must be able to manage large ESIA projects proactively, liaise with clients, specialists and authorities, manage quality assurance/client feedback and ensure they meet budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets while exceeding client expectations
- Must have a sound knowledge of environmental legislation processes within Egypt
- Must be able to travel within the Middle East and Africa
- Liaise with clients, regulators (including EEAA), and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee translation and localisation of key documents where necessary
- Knowledge of project management (proposal/report compilation, budget control, timely project completion)
- Must develop and sustain client relationships, leading to repeat business
- Lead the preparation and submission of winning proposal submissions
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Fluent in English and Arabic
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
