Job Summary

Design and support custom furnace projects from concept through installation by creating AutoCAD and Inventor drawings, developing bills of materials, and assisting with project planning. Work alongside installation crews on active industrial job sites to verify that projects are built according to engineering specifications and produce as-built drawings post-completion. Participate in customer and engineering review meetings while supporting quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle. This hands-on role involves hot, dusty, and noisy environments with long days, extended workweeks, and up to 20% domestic and international travel. You will gain exposure to engineering design, manufacturing, and large-scale industrial furnace installations while working within the Global Refractory Engineering Team.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor preferred
  • Manufacturing, refractory, or industrial experience is a plus
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter who enjoys solving problems and learning through hands-on experience
