Job Summary
Associate Engineer - Electrical duties include performing engineering tasks under close supervision, developing more complex design work in high voltage substations up to 345kV, preparing design materials for basic design assignments, performing calculations (AC/DC, voltage drop), creating one-line diagrams, relaying panel schematics, SCADA drawings, and ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality. Role involves coordinating with project leadership, supporting business development pursuits, learning client standards, and collaborating with electrical and civil/structural teams. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field and one year of GRID experience; proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, ProjectWise Explorer-like tools, Microsoft 365, and IEEE standards; strong written/verbal communication; up to 10% travel; potential hybrid work option after 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- one year of related GRID experience
- experience with Bluebeam Revu, file sharing software (similar to ProjectWise Explorer), and Microsoft 365
- experience working with IEEE standards and other commonly utilized industry standards
- experience independently developing written communication and facilitating coordination with team members and clients
- experience designing small electrical engineering projects, including creating/modifying one-line diagrams
- experience with performing AC, DC and voltage drop calculations
