Job Summary
Associate Engineer Drafter in Reston, VA, developing detailed 3D BIM models and 2D CAD drawings across multiple engineering disciplines. Collaborates with SMEs to identify and model facility functions and configurations, performs clash detection, maintains BIM libraries, audits models for data integrity and Level of Development compliance, and generates customer deliverables from BIM models. Works within an interdisciplinary government/contractor team in a fast-paced, secure environment, with responsibilities including model coordination meetings and adherence to established drafting standards. Requires active TS/SCI or Top Secret clearance with polygraph eligibility, U.S. Citizenship, and a strong BIM/CAD skill set (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, CATIA), plus experience applying engineering principles in Civil/Structural/Protective Engineering domains and excellent communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance, or an active Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI and eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in Civil, Structural, Protective Engineering, or another discipline directly applicable to Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief and interact effectively with senior government and organizational leaders
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles, theories, concepts, and technical expertise within a specialized domain, with a broad understanding of related disciplines
