Job Summary

Execute hardware break-fix repairs, including replacing failed drives, DIMMs, fans, and power supplies. Troubleshoot escalated issues from contracted technicians, apply diagnostics for Linux OS and IPMI-level problems, and resolve physical-layer network connectivity issues. Install new SSDs and NVMe drives, assist with autobuild failures, and monitor the Jira ticket queue for quality resolution. Serve as an escalation point for contracted data center technicians, mentor new staff on operational tasks, and participate in an on-call rotation to support global data center operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role
  • 1+ years of Linux troubleshooting experience
  • 1+ years of server hardware troubleshooting experience
  • This role may require working evening or overnight shifts (3:00 PM - 12:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM)
  • The work location of this role is on-site
  • Perform break-fix repairs, including but not limited to replacing failed drives, DIMMs, fans, power supplies, and other server or network hardware components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues from contracted technicians, applying diagnostics and escalating unresolved issues to Data Center Hardware Engineers or LinkedIn engineering teams as needed
  • Instal new SSD's and NVME's into existing servers
  • Conduct basic Linux OS and IPMI-level troubleshooting across all server platforms
  • Assist LinkedIn engineers with troubleshooting and resolving autobuild (Linux Kickstart) failures, including - straggler- nodes
  • Diagnose and resolve physical-layer network connectivity issues
  • Execute hardware installations and repairs outside the scope of planned quarterly organic growth projects
  • Actively monitor and engage with the Jira ticket queue, ensuring proper ticket handling and quality resolution by contracted data center technicians
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support global data center operations

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 2+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role
  • 2+ years Linux troubleshooting experience
  • 2+ years server hardware troubleshooting experience
