Job Summary
Associate Electrical Mechanic for Boeing Aerospace Operations (BDS) to join the B-52 team in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities include performing connector terminations for shielded wires, coax, and fiber optic wiring; reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical orders; performing hardware installs, wiring harness modifications, and restraint/closure work; using tooling fixtures for depot-level electrical wiring repair/modification; conducting visual inspections and functional checks of aircraft electrical and comms/nav systems; troubleshooting organizational and depot maintenance malfunctions; following standard work instructions, blueprints, wire diagrams, and job layouts; maintaining certifications and safety procedures; and occupying roles related to material/tool movement and working in confinement spaces as needed. Basic qualifications require 4+ years in electrical/electronic theory and avionics, schematics/assembly drawings/SOPs, and component/wire installation with repair and troubleshooting; ability to pass training assessments; commitment to working on-site with potential shift variability; active clearance or ability to obtain a clearance; US Citizenship required; FAA certification in Airframe/Powerplant and related security policies encouraged. The role emphasizes onsite, safety-conscious work environment with stringent clearance requirements and relocation not negotiable as a benefit.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with electrical/electronic theories and avionics systems
- 4+ years of experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and SOPs
- 4+ years of experience with component and wire installation to include repairing, modifying, testing and troubleshooting new, experimental, and disturbed systems
- Ability to work variable shifts including weekends and overtime
- On-site work at San Antonio, TX with US Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
