Job Summary
Direct detailed electrical design production and performance specifications for Building Services projects, supervising the work of others and leading feasibility studies. Manage design programmes to ensure sufficient resources align with technical and commercial delivery targets while engaging with clients, contractors, and design teams on technical coordination. Utilize AMTECH, Electrical OM, and Revit MEP software to allocate work and demonstrate regulatory knowledge through calculations. Provide training and mentorship to staff within the Birmingham office team of 50+ MEP engineers working across healthcare, commercial, residential, and defense sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Meeting the requirements of an Associate Electrical Engineer grade
- Have a proven track record in delivering projects for your discipline
- Able to work using initiative with minimal supervision
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)
- Have a detailed understanding of the regulations applicable to the discipline
- Demonstrate a working understanding of latest electrical design software packages such as AMTECH or Electrical OM software
- Experience of working with Revit MEP or other 3D design software

- Reviewing design programmes and ensuring that sufficient resource is available
- Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function
- Consider the feasibility of the project, specific to the discipline, and lead the overall feasibility study for the project
- Training and mentoring of staff
- Show ability to engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions, co-ordination and debates
- Have an ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively
