Associate Economist

Job Summary
Associate Economist to support the Global Compact for Refugees (GCR) objectives with data-driven analysis of refugees and host communities. Responsibilities include designing and implementing assessments and other data-driven products related to socio-economic welfare; facilitating collaboration with partners and collecting comparable poverty data; data collection oversight and quality assurance across surveys; data analysis using econometric tools (R, Stata); consolidating raw datasets into analyzable datasets; preparing datasets for archival in UNHCR Microdata Library; drafting research papers, tables, graphs, and policy briefs; coordinating with country operations, partners, governments, and external stakeholders; and identifying research opportunities and contributing to proposals for partnerships and funding.
Required Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of demonstrated experience in economics, analysing data and/or conducting research.
- Bachelor of Arts: Economics (required)
- Bachelor of Arts: International Business (preferred)
- Proficiency with statistical software (R, Stata)
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and deliver high quality products.
