Job Summary
Greet donors and customers with friendly service at the register, donation area, and sales floor. Receive, unload, sort, hang, tag, price, and stock donated goods while determining quality and usability. Process sales transactions for cash, credit, and other payments, maintaining cleanliness across the store and ensuring safety compliance. Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions about store policies. Rotate duties between cashier, production, and merchandising based on daily demand. Complete required training, HazMat awareness, and equipment certifications within 30 days of hire. Maintain proficiency in POS systems and barcode tools.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn Goodwill standards for donations, pricing, and sales
- Dependable attendance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull loaded Gaylords/carts up to 150 lbs. with assistance/tools
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn AI-assisted item recognition/price suggestion tools as deployed
- Must be certified and demonstrate proficiency in at least one duty area
- Must successfully complete the knowledge check quizzes
- Must meet production standards for two consecutive weeks
- Must be certified and demonstrate proficiency in at least three duty areas
- Must successfully complete the knowledge check quizzes
- Must cross-train others
- Must achieve 95% audit scores
- Must consistently meet production standards for 30 days
- Must be certified and demonstrate proficiency in all five duty areas
- Must successfully complete the knowledge check quizzes
- Must consistently meet or exceed production standards for 30 days
- Must be CPR certified
Desired Qualifications
- 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training
- Previous retail, cashier, or warehouse experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous retail, cashier, or warehouse experience helpful but not required
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Basic proficiency with POS, handheld scanners, barcode printers
- Willingness to learn AI-assisted item recognition/price suggestion tools as deployed
- Level IIIs will be expected to mentor new hires
- Level IIIs will be expected to serve as a Safety Ambassador
- Level IIIs will be expected to become e-commerce pull lead
- Level IIIs will be expected to become CPR certified
