Job Summary
Greet donors and customers, then process sales transactions at the register using cash, credit, and other payment methods. Receive, unload, and sort donated goods to determine quality and usability, followed by hanging, tagging, pricing, and stocking merchandise to meet production goals. Maintain cleanliness across the sales floor, donation area, stockroom, and restrooms while rotating through donor door, cashier, and merchandising duties as demand shifts. Assist customers in locating items and answer questions regarding store policies and promotions. Complete required training, HazMat awareness, and equipment certifications within 30 days of hire, with proficiency in POS systems and barcode tools.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Dependable attendance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull loaded Gaylords/carts up to 150 lbs. with assistance/tools
- Ability to work in moderate noise and occasional outdoor conditions
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn Goodwill standards for donations, pricing, and sales
- Willingness to learn AI-assisted item recognition/price suggestion tools as deployed
- Must be certified and demonstrate proficiency in at least one duty area
- Must successfully complete the knowledge check quizzes
- Must meet production standards for two consecutive weeks
- Must be certified and demonstrate proficiency in at least three duty areas
- Must successfully complete the knowledge check quizzes
- Must cross-train others
- Must achieve 95% audit scores
- Must consistently meet production standards for 30 days
- Must be certified and demonstrate proficiency in all five duty areas
- Must successfully complete the knowledge check quizzes
- Must consistently meet or exceed production standards for 30 days
- Must be CPR certified
