Associate Director – Wind Engineering I Energy

Job Summary
Lead as the WTG engineering subject matter expert across development to commissioning, delivering turbine/platform selection, layouts, configurations and performance. Provide Owners’ Engineer leadership across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover with QA/QC, FATs, and compliance to IEC, DNV, and AS/NZS standards; conduct technical due diligence, risk assessments, and decision-grade reporting for FID; develop technical specifications and negotiate terms for turbine supply, installation and warranty; oversee grid connection studies and interface with OEMs and BoP contractors; guide site delivery, manufacturing oversight, and supplier engagement; contribute to business development and client relationship building; mentor and develop team members; travel to project sites; role based in Sydney with potential for other ANZ offices; flexible hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or related engineering discipline
- Significant wind engineering experience (10+ years) with owners’ engineering and design governance
- Strong understanding of Australian regulations, grid codes and local standards
- Experience delivering utility-scale wind projects from construction to commissioning
- Ability to connect site realities to commercial and financial decisions
- Proven capability developing technical specifications and managing interfaces
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Mentoring and leadership abilities
- Postgraduate qualification such as Chartered Engineer is advantageous
