Associate Director, Travel Operations

Job Summary
Track key issues, risks, and outcomes for championship travel to support timely decision-making and escalation. Monitor vendor performance against service expectations, recommend improvements, and maintain standardized playbooks to ensure consistent execution. Partner with internal teams and travel vendors to optimize existing systems, evaluate enhancements for better visibility, and support automation to reduce manual effort. Coordinate intake of operational enhancements, simplify workflows, and assist with budget forecasting while tracking airline performance trends and disruption drivers. Manage multiple initiatives and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, requiring availability for on-call rotations during peak championship periods. This role strengthens operational performance and financial stewardship across NCAA programs to elevate the student-athlete experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of experience within a fast-paced environment
- Data and analytics experience
- 5+ years experience (preferred but listed in requirements section)
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives, stakeholders, and deadlines
- Strong operational judgment
- Ability to make timely decisions in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail
- Follow-through
- Task ownership
- Proficiency with travel systems
- Proficiency with TMC platforms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to be on call during peak championship travel periods
- Estimated travel: up to 20%
- Based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana
- Current work environment is hybrid; 2 days in the office and 3 days are remote
- Bachelors or better
