Associate Director, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting

Job Summary
Lead revenue recognition and technical accounting for commercial consulting contracts by evaluating ASC 606 application, identifying performance obligations, and assessing principal versus agent considerations. Ensure consistent compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and audit requirements while partnering with project finance, contracts, and operations teams. Oversee contract accounting practices, review subcontractor treatments, and support monthly closes, financial statement preparation, and external audit responses. Identify automation opportunities, standardize processes, and provide training on revenue concepts to project managers. Manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, contract-driven environment to deliver accurate revenue insights to senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, professional services
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- CPA
- Experience in large consulting firms
- Knowledge of Oracle FCCS similar financial reporting tools
- Prior leadership or team management experience
- Strong Excel and data analytics skills (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Experience with Peoplesoft
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, contract driven environment
- Proactive problem solver with strong business judgment
- Excellent collaborator and communicator across technical and operational teams
