Job Summary
Develop, plan, and implement health center policies while maintaining standards consistent with AAAHC requirements. Provide clinical leadership for operations, including recruitment, training, and supervision of professional and support staff. Deliver a full range of primary care medical services as a nurse practitioner and moderate health education programs with the Medical Director. Serve as a liaison for the university, students, and community agencies regarding health issues and interface with other university departments. Review and update the SHS Policies and Procedures manual annually, providing general counsel to administrators on medical policy. Represent LMU within the college health community and professional associations, and participate in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Typically a degree from a nursing program
- current license or license eligible in California as a registered nurse
- must be a licensed nurse practitioner
- Must have documentation of continuing medical education credits for the preceding three years
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced nursing care principles, practices, methods, and procedures
- Knowledge of medical/legal issues and regulations governing health and allied health services
- Knowledge of resources for health education
- Understanding of health insurance, especially student health insurance
- Awareness of current practices in college, industrial, ambulatory, or allied health field
- Minimum two years of administrative experience in a health care clinic setting
- Three years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information
- Highly developed organizational and leadership skills
- Demonstrated computer competency
- preferably knowledgeable of Point N Click electronic medical record system
- Operate Windows based computer software applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel as well as University web-based applications such as Qualtrics and Smartsheet
- Must be eligible and accepted for malpractice insurance coverage with the university insurance carrier
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree is preferred
- Experience in Student Health/College Health is preferred
