Job Summary

Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and coordination for the financial counseling and outreach team. Deliver clear, accurate, and personalized support to help students and families navigate complex financial aid application processes, including FAFSA completion and document verification. Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting student financial aid concerns and investigating sensitive problems. Conduct outreach via phone, email, and events to assist with bill navigation, financial aid renewal, and refunds. Develop and implement retention programming, including Financial Aid 101 workshops, Financial Literacy trainings, and High School Financial Aid Nights. Create, manage, and revise the student outreach program policies and procedures manual. Compose reports as needed and assess the success of programming through surveys.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Seven years of related experience
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
  • Knowledge of higher education
  • Knowledge of student financial aid processes and related federal and state regulations
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Subject to a criminal history investigation

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education or related area
  • Previous experience working in higher education, including exposure to admissions and financial aid
