Job Summary
Associate Director of Stewardship responsible for directing and implementing a comprehensive donor stewardship program at KU Endowment. Leads donor-centered stewardship efforts to strengthen long-term relationships, guides collaboration across Donor Engagement, and oversees staff mentoring. The role requires developing enterprise-level stewardship plans for major gift donors, utilizing data analysis and segmentation to inform strategy, and aligning messaging with donor intent and institutional priorities. The position is hybrid with several days on-site at the Lawrence, KS office to ensure coordination and engagement, while offering remote work part of the week. Regular collaboration with cross-functional teams, strategic partnership with major gift teams, and continuous improvement of processes are essential. The candidate should have strong leadership, strategic thinking, relationship-building, communication, and project-management skills; a bachelor’s degree is required, with five to seven years of related experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Five to seven years of progressive experience in donor relations, stewardship, fundraising, or a related field
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), marketing or engagement platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud), and project management tools (e.g., Salesforce)
