Job Summary

Directs and coordinates spiritual care and education programs at Carolinas Medical Center, including budget development, policy/planning for mission-driven programs, development of interdisciplinary in-service education, and coordination of clinical assignments. Leads recruitment and guidance of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students, serves as liaison with seminary representatives, orients incoming CPE students to program policies and fee structures, and performs daily chaplain visits to patients and families. Requires a Bachelor's degree and seminary graduation with ordination/endorsement, ACPE educator certification, and at least three years of professional spiritual care experience. The role combines program administration, education, and frontline patient care within a full-time schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Graduation from an accredited Theological Seminary
  • Ordination and/or endorsement by recognized denomination; in good standing with same
  • Certification with National Spiritual Care Cognate Group
  • Certified Educator with ACPE
  • Minimum three years professional experience as a Spiritual Care provider
