Job Summary
Lead Business Development for the Social and Economic Empowerment Practice in India and East Africa by identifying new opportunities, developing leads, contacting potential donors, and devising implementation strategies. Coordinate with project teams to ensure deliverable quality, secure partners and staff, and maintain relationships with donors and clients. Oversee routine project management activities including reviewing reports, developing budgets, and backstopping operations. Develop thought leadership content such as evidence papers, policy notes, and media articles while participating in professional networks. Mentor a team of development professionals with expertise in governance and program management. Requires a Master's degree and 12-15 years of experience leading proposal development for bilateral and multi-lateral organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in international development, gender studies, sociology, economics, or other relevant field
- About 12-15 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience of leading proposal development for bilateral/multi-lateral organisations, foundations, philanthropies
- Strong abilities in structuring commercial proposals

- Able to work independently and in a team setting

- Demonstrable team management experience

- Project management expertise, including the management of large project teams

- Prior exposure to Livelihood thematic area
- Prior experience of developing and disseminating knowledge products and fostering strategic partnerships with academia, media, research and knowledge based organizations
