Associate Director/ Project Director - Quantity Surveyor Defence

Job Summary
Conduct end-to-end commission management for complex defence projects, acting as the primary client interface to deliver value-added cost services. Lead feasibility studies, procurement processes, and cost planning while managing post-contract variances, change controls, and final account negotiations. Apply value engineering and life cycle costing techniques, presenting monthly cost reports and leading cost management teams where required. Identify new business opportunities, construct bids with Directors, and improve internal cost management procedures. Work 60% of the time on client sites or offices, requiring UK MoD security clearance and a background in infrastructure or defence sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering
- Experience of working in the Infrastructure (Rail, air, power, highways) sector
- Demonstrable and proven experience in Compilation, assurance and delivery of complex estimates and cost models
- Experience working within an integrated Project Controls team
- Experience in single-sourced, non-competed public procurement
- Excellent and flexible skills in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of working in a client-facing environment
- Must be a SOLE UK National
- Must be able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC)
- Must be able to work 60% of time on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices
Desired Qualifications
- Already holding SC Clearance
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status
- Education to degree level
- Experience of working in the Defence sector
- Experience in early-stage estimating in complex / major Infrastructure programmes
- Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software packages
