Job Summary
Partner with the Development Program Lead to foster a high-performing team, monitor operating efficiency, and establish cross-functional norms and operating principles. Act as an integrator across the Development Program Team and enterprise to ensure alignment, facilitate science-based business decisions through scenario analysis, and highlight interdependencies of strategic choices. Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, develop resource plans, and coordinate with external CDMOs and CROs to define timelines and monitor KPIs. Coach project members to drive excellence, develop talent pipelines, and prepare monthly progress reports for senior leadership. Define budgets, create work breakdown structures, and manage critical path analyses while implementing best practices for portfolio management. Collaborate with functional leaders to maintain team spirit and participate in developing Program Management tools and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a science discipline
- Ph.D.
- 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
- 2 years managing multi-functional project teams
- Breadth of drug development expertise
- Solid understanding of project strategy and disease content
- Experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery and development
- Knowledge of manufacturing and CMC changes
- Knowledge of all phases of the drug development cycle
- Technical understanding toward the successful development and registration of pharmaceutical products
- Fully trained in all relevant PM processes
- Competent use and employment of essential project management tools and methodologies
- Ability to resolve complex problems
- Ability to manage difficult stakeholder situations
- Ability to lead the development of critical path analyses
- Support for scenario planning
- High level of personal integrity
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Consensus building skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Availability outside of standard office hours to handle priority business needs
