Job Summary
Associate Director, Payments Commercialisation within HSBC's Treasury Solutions Group leads development and execution of the TSG practice with a predominantly market-facing focus. Responsibilities include meeting Corporate Treasurers to shape payments strategy and roadmap, acting as the internal SME on digital payments, scaling the digital payments space globally, defining problem statements and recommendations, designing and delivering globally consistent training programs, and representing GPS/HSBC at industry events and client forums. Required qualifications emphasize senior-level payments experience at a tech company or consultancy, familiarity with treasury/finance functions, ISO 20022 knowledge, payout infrastructure, PSPs/acquirers/fraud vendors, data-driven optimization, and strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Solid experience specialising in payments at a leading technology company or consultancy
- Experience working in or closely with a Treasury or Finance function on payments related topics
- Practical experience designing and delivering a digital payments strategy and roadmap covering infrastructure (e.g. local acquiring requirements, regulatory obligations, payment method landscape)
- Knowledge of domestic and cross border payment schemes (incl. ISO 20022) and latest industry regulation/directives
- Familiarity with payout infrastructure: bank transfer rails, digital wallets, local payout methods
- Experience working with PSPs, acquirers, fraud vendors, and other payments partners to identify payments performance opportunities, commercial terms, and strategic alignment
- Understanding of data's role in optimizing card network costs, acceptance, fraud, currency strategy and cross border flows
- Knowledge or interest in Digital Assets and Currencies (DAC)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management and networking skills across business areas
- Willingness to participate in industry events and client roundtables
