Job Summary
Develop and execute a regional communications and marketing strategy to raise awareness for river conservation and build community support. Lead storytelling efforts by creating blogs, social media content, e-newsletters, and multimedia materials that advance public engagement. Coordinate events including speaking engagements, webinars, film showings, and fundraising activities while maintaining strong relationships with media and regional influencers. Draft press statements, manage content calendars and budgets, and track metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness. Collaborate closely with the national communications team to ensure brand consistency and implement rapid-response communications. Requires living within one hour of Jackson, WY, with the ability to travel regionally and work in a high-pace environment.
Required Qualifications
- The person hired for this position MUST LIVE within one hour's drive of Jackson, WY.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or undergraduate degree and 3 years of relevant experience in conservation, marketing, communication or journalism.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex project timelines and coordinate multiple campaign efforts.
- Experience with digital content production tools.
- Experience or interest in working with journalists at the local and regional level.
- Strong familiarity with Northern Rockies conservation issues, politics and culture.
- Ability and willingness to travel regionally, including occasional off-hours or field work as needed.
- Comfort prioritizing work in high-pace environments and willingness to meet regular, often variable deadlines.
- A love and passion for rivers!
- Applicant must be legally allowed to work as an employee in the United States.
