Job Summary
The Associate Director of the Dexter Southfield Fund will lead planning, implementation, and management of the school’s annual giving program, including donor acquisition/retention/upgrades, development of annual themes and messaging, and coordination of Community Giving Day and Giving Tuesday. Responsibilities include managing daily operations of the annual giving program, collaborating with the school community to craft compelling content, segmenting donors for targeted gift asks, stewarding donors, managing volunteer structures (Alumni Board and Parent Giving Committee), supporting leadership gift societies, monitoring results with data analysis, and producing progress reports. The role also involves fundraising administration, leveraging technology (Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Office, Zoom), traveling for programming/events, and occasional night/weekend commitments. This is an on-campus, full-time position located in Brookline, MA, with flexible hours and a focus on ethical fundraising, collaboration across faculty and administration, and engagement with donors, volunteers, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience with annual giving and/or alumni engagement
- Knowledge of database management
- Raiser’s Edge experience is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead projects to completion; and the ability to plan, set and achieve meaningful objectives
- Ability to develop effective relationships with volunteers, administration, faculty, staff, and other members of the School community
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects concurrently
- An active listener with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to speak and write persuasively
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical fundraising and engagement practices
- Discretion with highly confidential information
- Enthusiastic and creative team player who demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
- Adept at working with data and metrics to establish goals and create an annual fund plan
- Ability to travel for programming and events as needed
- Some night and weekend work is required
