Job Summary
Manage a $2.5 million portfolio of foundation and institutional funders by developing compelling grant proposals, reports, and letters of inquiry while monitoring compliance and meeting deliverables. Drive stewardship through customized communications, prospect research targeting $500,000+ in new annual support, and site visits across NYC neighborhoods to gather information for proposal development. Act as a strategic thought partner on funding opportunities, collaborate with program and fiscal teams to generate narrative content and project budgets, and mentor team members on strategic approaches to achieve private revenue growth. Utilize Raiser's Edge to manage relationships and track grants, ensuring accurate reporting and timely follow-up with funders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of grant writing and institutional grant management experience
- Demonstrated track record of securing private institutional funding
- Advanced professional writing skills with experience developing compelling, data-driven proposals and reports for institutional funders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced project management skills with experience managing multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines
- Experience developing and managing project budgets
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization, including funders and external partners
- Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to represent the organization professionally and confidently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in situations requiring sound judgment and adaptability
- Advanced attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Willingness to travel to Children's Aid program sites throughout New York City, as needed
