Job Summary
Strategic financial leader partnering with the CEO and Board to oversee all internal financial operations and staff; responsible for budgeting, audits (including 990), financial reporting, cash flow, and donor-funded funds; collaborates with Programs, HR, IT, facilities, and procurement to ensure resources align with the organization’s mission and regulatory requirements; leads day-to-day accounting, financial planning models, and policy development; manages relationships with government agencies, vendors, auditors, and the Finance Committee; drives performance metrics, staff development, and a positive, compliant operating environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business or Finance; or equivalent combination of formal education and experience required.
- Five-plus years of broad financial and operations management experience;
- Experience in and responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, cash flow, annual budgets, audit coordination, and grants.
- Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with— programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including the Board of Directors.
