Associate Director of Counseling and Wellness

Job Summary

Manage the school's counseling program by developing evidence-based curriculum, leading a team of counselors and social workers, and providing individual and group therapy sessions. Assess student mental health needs, create treatment plans, and perform crisis interventions while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with privacy laws. Collaborate with administration, faculty, and families to support academic and emotional growth, facilitate workshops, and analyze data to continuously improve program effectiveness. Work full-time Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays and evening support, utilizing telehealth capabilities where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling or social work services
  • 5 or more years of experience working with children and adults in related field
  • Clinical experience working with diverse populations
  • NJ school counseling standard certificate
  • NCC Certification & LPC
  • CACREP accredited program
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to improve program effectiveness
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based counseling practices and programs, and the ability to implement them effectively
  • Telehealth ethical standards informed
  • Knowledgeable about ethical and legal best practices
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to student privacy and confidentiality
  • Collaborative and eager to partner with parents, faculty and other departments
  • Willing to adapt to changes in schedules to accommodate students and families
  • High emotional and social intelligence
  • Empathetic toward unique circumstances
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to facilitate difficult conversations
  • High level of professionalism
