Associate Director of Comprehensive Services

Job Summary

Oversee administration, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of health, nutrition, early childhood education, family, mental health, and disability services for EHS/HS/CDE programs. Supervise key program managers, recruit and evaluate staff, and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, LACOE Grantee Information Memorandums, and California Child Care Licensing requirements. Manage operational budgets, compile monitoring data, and develop corrective action plans to support program goals and child outcomes. Establish memorandums of understanding with public school districts, higher education institutions, and community agencies; prepare monthly through annual reports for governing bodies and the Program Director. Conduct quarterly site visits, co-lead annual planning sessions, and develop training plans for prenatal-to-five services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public health, human services, early childhood education, social work, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of (7) seven years of management experience in Head Start, Early Head Start, State Preschool, or a closely related early childhood education program
  • Experience in program administration, including planning, operations, evaluation, compliance, and management information systems
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, maintain professional boundaries, and protect confidential information
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze program needs and develop effective solutions
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and current automobile liability insurance
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to perform routine office duties, use a computer and standard office equipment, communicate effectively, travel between program sites, conduct site visits, and attend meetings and community events
  • Must be able to perform prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as occasional bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting or moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds
