Job Summary
Oversee communications, marketing, media and public relations strategies for the Office of the Health Insurance Marketplace (OHIM) and CoverME.gov. Lead development and delivery of multi-channel plans, marketing contracts, and public-facing materials; serve as brand ambassador and spokesperson; manage media relations, internal/external communications, and stakeholder engagement; identify partnerships to raise brand awareness; maintain brand integrity across materials; supervise staff and website/social media efforts; analyze impact with metrics and provide guidance for strategy. Requires a bachelor’s degree and a strong background in marketing/communications with leadership experience in health or technology sectors; proficiency with design and digital tools (e.g., Drupal, ActiveCampaign/Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Adobe Creative Suite) and ability to communicate complex topics clearly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, public/community health, health administration, health education, or a closely related field
- Eight (8) year combination of education and/or experience that includes a bachelor’s degree
- Four (4) years of proven experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations management, with a background in health or technology sectors preferred
- Experience with multiple disciplines including public or media relations, promotion, marketing and/or communications
- Experience building strategic partnerships to promote brand awareness and engage target audiences
- Experience managing and coaching staff
- Excellent written communications across policy, media, business and persuasive writing
- Strong oral communication skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to work with all levels of business and community leaders and the public
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Adobe creative tools; familiarity with social media management tools and content management systems
- Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act, health coverage programs, or related markets is a plus
