Job Summary
Associate Director of Civil Engineering overseeing dam safety engineering within ODSP, reporting to the Director and Chief Dam Safety Engineer. Responsible for day-to-day execution of ODSP in an assigned region with a team of Dam Safety Engineers, coordinating with FERC, engineering consultants, and construction contractors. Leads development/maintenance of Dam Safety Surveillance and Monitoring Plans, reports, and technical documents; directs participation in FERC inspections and risk analyses; guides flow-control inspection programs; trains Operations staff on safe practices; responds to dam incidents; collaborates with regulators and project teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables; drives continuous improvement of the Dam and Public Safety Program. Requires PE license, 10+ years in dam-related engineering, and ability to travel up to 30%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license/certification
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering discipline integral to dams
