Job Summary
Design and coordinate a comprehensive career development continuum guiding students from enrollment through graduation, integrating exploration, readiness, and post-graduate preparation. Develop and sustain partnerships with employers, alumni, and community organizations to expand internships, mentoring, and networking opportunities aligned with academic programs. Provide individualized and group coaching to help students connect academic experiences to career goals, build professional competencies, and navigate their professional journey. Deliver workshops and employer engagement activities while collaborating with faculty to embed career development throughout the student experience. Evaluate program effectiveness by monitoring student outcomes and employer partnerships to support continuous improvement. May occasionally operate University-owned vehicles for departmental activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Human Resources, Business, Community Development, or a related field
- Four to six years of progressively responsible experience in career development, student success, workforce development, employer relations, higher education, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience providing career coaching, advising, mentoring, or student development services that support career readiness and post-graduate success
- Experience developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with employers, community organizations, faculty, and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to design, coordinate, and implement programs or initiatives that improve student engagement, career readiness, and student success
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse students, employers, faculty, alumni, and community partners
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, build processes, and execute initiatives effectively
- Ability to analyze data, assess program effectiveness, and use results to support continuous improvement
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using career management, CRM, or student information systems
- Must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with University policy
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Business, or a related field
- Experience working with first-generation, transfer, or historically underserved student populations
- Experience developing employer partnerships that create internships, experiential learning, or employment opportunities
- Experience designing and delivering career readiness programming, workshops, or professional development initiatives
- Knowledge of career development theory, experiential learning, and best practices in career readiness within higher education
- Experience using career management platforms such as Handshake or similar systems
