Job Summary
Lead advancement activities for assigned divisions, programs, or geographic areas by translating organizational philanthropic strategy into fundraising priorities, plans, and measurable outcomes. Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual, corporate, foundation, faith-based, and community donors to expand philanthropic support while advising leadership on donor trends and emerging needs. Oversee assigned portfolios including annual planning, donor pipelines, revenue forecasting, stewardship, and performance reporting, directing staff across donor cultivation, events, and community engagement. Represent the organization with stakeholders to build inclusive relationships that strengthen awareness and investment. This role involves supervising employees and volunteers, setting clear goals, and managing team performance. Requires five years of progressive fundraising experience, a bachelor's degree, and proficiency in CRM systems like Raiser's Edge or Salesforce.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or advancement within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
- Experience leading staff, complex portfolios, or cross-functional initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Demonstrated success cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors and managing major gift portfolios, corporate partnerships, community fundraising initiatives, and donor engagement activities
- Demonstrated experience developing and carrying out fundraising plans, monitoring revenue goals and donor pipelines, and using performance data to evaluate progress and adjust activities
- Experience guiding and developing staff while coordinating work across multiple teams, programs, geographic areas, or organizational functions
- Strong understanding of donor-centered fundraising practices, ethical standards, donor confidentiality, and accurate constituent data management
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong relationship-building, solicitation, negotiation, presentation, and stewardship skills
- Strategic and analytical thinking skills
- Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites and proficiency using fundraising databases or constituent relationship management systems, such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or Bloomerang
- Demonstrates resilience, awareness, and self-regulation when navigating challenges, conflict, competing priorities, and barriers
- Thrives in a complex environment and works effectively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that strengthen donor, partner, and stakeholder experiences
- Demonstrates exceptional commitment to serving and advocating for diverse and marginalized populations
- Travel regularly between worksites and to donors, community, partner, and event locations, including occasional evening or weekend activities
- Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender
