Job Summary
Associate Director, Mutual Fund Tax leads the Mutual Fund Tax team to ensure accurate and timely federal, state, and local tax returns for diverse mutual fund structures (RICs, ETFs, UITs), directs tax provisions and year-end planning, and mentors a tax-professional team while collaborating with fund accounting, legal, compliance, and portfolio management to implement tax strategies and improve reporting accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in mutual fund taxation
- 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Extensive knowledge of Subchapter M of the Internal Revenue Code and other relevant tax regulations applicable to regulated investment companies (RICs)
- Experience with tax compliance software (e.g., GoSystem Tax RS, ONESOURCE)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of developing and motivating a team
- Master's degree in Taxation is a plus
- CPA certification highly preferred
