Job Summary
Associate Director (Mechanical) – Building Services in Sydney. Lead the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary building services design and end-to-end project delivery, including oversight of technical quality, coordination with electrical, fire protection and hydraulics, and development of robust project documentation. Motivate and mentor junior engineers, lead the Building Services team in NSW, nurture client relationships to secure future work, and contribute to expanding AECOM’s presence in the Sydney market. Requires Chartered status (CPEng) and 15+ years’ experience in building services; role emphasizes leadership, technical direction across building sectors (health, defence, transport, commercial, aviation, data-centre), and a commitment to high-quality design, innovative practice, and flexible/hybrid work arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered status (CPEng) essential
- 15+ years’ experience in building services consultancy or contracting design with a strong mechanical engineering background
- Demonstrated leadership in technical design and multi-disciplinary project delivery
- Deep knowledge of building services systems, standards and best-practice design
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and lead multidiscipline bids
- Strong communicator and leader with passion for growing teams and coaching engineers
