Job Summary
Associate Director of Major Gifts at the Darden School Foundation (University of Virginia) responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 125 major gift prospects/donors and securing six- to seven-figure gifts. Develop and execute strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans; conduct in-person donor visits; identify and structure planned, blended, and restricted gifts; collaborate across teams to advance fundraising priorities; and achieve revenue goals. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and at least five years of progressive fundraising experience with a track record in major gifts, donor engagement, and strategic gift planning. Proficiency with fundraising CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Advance, Raiser’s Edge) and ability to travel for donor engagements is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum of at least five years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including successful solicitation and closure of six-figure gifts
- Experience in major gifts, annual giving, and gift planning
- Ability to manage a portfolio and build relationships with high-capacity donors, volunteers, institutional leaders, and colleagues
- Experience using fundraising CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Advance, Raiser's Edge, or similar
