Job Summary
Lead, Employee Relations & HR Services at Clear Street, owning end-to-end Employee Relations investigations, performance management, involuntary separations, RIFs, and leave/immigration programs. Serve as the primary resource for ER matters, provide grounded recommendations on legal risk, develop and maintain RIF cost models, manage leave across jurisdictions, and partner with Finance on restructuring budgets. Own policy development and compliance across jurisdictions, maintain the employee handbook, and act as a backup to the HR Business Partner team. Requires hands-on ownership of investigations, PIPs, separations, and immigration programs, with strong financial modeling and communication skills. Office-based role based in New York, NY, with in-office requirements (4 days/week). The base salary range is $160,000-$175,000, reflecting starting salaries with potential variance by experience and location.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressive HR experience with depth in employee relations and HR operations
- Direct experience with full lifecycle of investigations, PIPs, involuntary separations, and RIFs in a regulated environment
- Experience building RIF cost models and partnering with Finance on restructuring budgets
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, WARN Act, Title VII, and state equivalents
- Experience managing leave of absence programs across multiple jurisdictions
- Immigration program management experience (H-1B, green cards, visa support)
- Ability to model scenarios and present economics to senior leadership
- Strong written skills for policies, investigation summaries, and separation agreements
- Ability to own end-to-end HR operations responsibilities as a senior individual contributor
- Excellent communication and accountability for outcomes
