Job Summary
Manage housing assignments, billing, and occupancy records for 4,500 students across 13 residence halls and off-campus buildings, overseeing room changes, ADA accommodations, and appeals. Supervise a team of staff and student workers while developing annual publications and improving the Housing website, Service Now, and StarRez systems. Serve as the primary contact for students, parents, and faculty on policy and assignment issues, driving improvements through data-driven KPI tracking and stakeholder collaboration. Provide on-call emergency response and after-hours coverage for resident needs, major campus events, and university-wide programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience
- Successful completion of a background check
- Employees in staff positions at American University must deliver their services to the university from either the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia, or perform work on-site at the university
- American University is an E-Verify employer
