Job Summary
Associate Director/Underwriting Director for High Net Worth (HNW) in life reinsurance overseeing risk selection and UW case handling per RGA standards. Responsibilities include conducting client meetings, trainings, audits, and events with internal/external clients; providing on-site underwriting support; delivering timely, quality client service; coordinating with pricing, business development, administration, claims, and other underwriting teams; contributing to development of underwriting philosophy, guidelines, and processes; reviewing inputs to product design, treaties, and underwriting guidelines; participating in Digital UW and data analytics projects; contributing to internal risk management and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience required
- 10+ Years life underwriting experience with 5 years in high net worth, preferably with reinsurance experience
- Strong foundation and understanding of underwriting philosophy required
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to manage difficult conversations required
- Flexibility to handle diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong decision maker with innovative problem-solving ability
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in English
- Self-disciplined with ability to work autonomously
- Computer literate and proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Creative, flexible, self-motivated, and responsive
- Must be an “out of the box” thinker
- Works effectively both independently and in a team setting
- Highly adaptable to a rapidly changing environment
- Client focused (external and internal)
