Job Summary

Oversee the direction, coordination, and growth of Health and Wellness programs by supervising Program Managers, providing leadership coaching, and managing hiring, onboarding, and performance management. Lead contract compliance, budget management, and funding initiatives including grant proposals and LOIs while serving as the department's Data Steward for participant and staff file management. Develop evaluation tools, coordinate leadership meetings, and maintain oversight of program materials and confidential information. Elevate community impact through storytelling, communications, and the development of the HW newsletter. Maintain awareness of community health trends to keep programs responsive and escalate urgent issues to leadership. Requires four to eight years of progressive leadership experience, bicultural lived experience with bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, and knowledge of social determinants of health affecting the Oregon Latine community.

Required Qualifications

  • Four to eight years of progressive leadership in the design and administration of community health programs, supervisory and personnel management experience, or equivalent combination of public health promotion, program development and management experience
  • Bicultural lived experience and bilingual fluency (Spanish/English)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
  • Knowledge of the culturally based worldview, adaptive reasoning, and problem-solving practices of Latine individuals, families, and communities impacted by crime, poverty, and racial inequity
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and collaborative communication skills
  • Ability to lead groups of diverse professional levels, facilitate knowledge sharing, and motivate, train, and empower staff to develop creative approaches to serving youth and families
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health affecting the Oregon Latine community and other vulnerable populations
  • Ability to navigate sensitive or politically high-stakes public health environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain cooperative relationships with community members, partner organizations, and support systems
  • Experience managing project budgets, tracking contract compliance, and completing funder reports
  • Professional writing and communication skills across meetings, phone, email, and group forums with partners, staff, and program participants
  • Proven ability to lead a team and work independently, managing time and priorities to meet organizational deadlines in situations with limited standardization
  • Professionally responsive, dependable, and thorough in follow-through
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations related to public health topics
  • Flexible and adaptive in meeting the position's functions
  • Specialized computer skills, including database, spreadsheet, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation, email, and scheduling applications
