Job Summary
Associate Director, Financial Investments at the University of Melbourne leads strategic oversight and governance of the externally managed investment portfolio, reports to the CFO Group, collaborates with senior executives and external partners, and prepares high-quality papers for the Investment Management Committee and Finance Committee. The role requires interpreting complex financial information, refining investment policies, building relationships across faculties and divisions, and ensuring alignment with institutional risk settings and policy requirements. The position emphasizes governance, risk oversight, external advisory engagement, and the delivery of insights to support executive decision-making in a part-time arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or an equivalent discipline
- Postgraduate credentials like a Master’s in Finance, CFA, CPA, or CA viewed very favourably
- Current valid work rights for Australia
- Working with Children Check is required for all positions
