Job Summary

Associate Director of Field Sales Capabilities at Novo Nordisk Inc. serves as a strategic performance and leadership development partner to an Area Commercial Lead, translating enterprise and commercial strategy into field-ready leadership capabilities, coaching standards, and scalable development experiences. Responsible for designing leadership capability standards, overseeing leadership and sales capability workshops, applying performance consulting to diagnose gaps, and delivering measurable behavior change and improved field performance. Partners closely with P&O/Employee Experience and cross-functional stakeholders to align sales strategy with employee experience and ensure sustained impact at scale. This role entails 50-75% overnight travel and can be located anywhere in the US.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 12+ years in pharmaceutical sales, management, and/or sales training experience
  • Experience in building organizational capabilities, with leadership development, curriculum design, and behavioral capability building preferred
  • Proven experience leading sales management and leadership development interventions across first- and second-line leaders preferred
  • Strong knowledge of leader development, adult learning theory, and modern L&D trends; ability to translate learning into sustained behavior change
  • Strategic planning and business analysis skills; translate priorities into clear operational plans
  • Ability to balance short term delivery with long term capability sustainability in a fast-moving commercial environment
  • Proven track record of sales performance results and credibility with senior commercial leaders
  • Executive presence with ability to influence and partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience managing external vendors and partners to support leadership development and instructional design
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% overnight
