Job Summary
Associate Director, Engineering Sciences at Secretariat leads business development for expert witness and strategic consulting, mentors Thermal staff, provides project management and budget oversight, and contributes to the growth of Secretariat’s Thermal practice. The role requires PhD or MS in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field with ~5+ years of experience, and emphasizes excellent verbal and written communication, deposition/arbitration/testimony experience, expert report writing, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and leadership/mentorship capabilities to guide staff and engage with clients on complex engineering challenges across industries such as oil & gas, power, construction, and medical devices.
Required Qualifications
- Requisite professional degrees and ~ 5+ years of work experience: PhD or MS degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Have previously testified in deposition, trial, arbitration or hearings
- Excellent expert report writing skills to complement analytics
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- The desire to lead, auxiliary tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm
- Established track record for business development and existing client-base
