Job Summary
Design, develop, and execute a broad array of cell-based assays to interrogate GPCR function and signaling, leading programs from hit finding through early discovery. Independently conceptualize and run novel screening assays while collaborating cross-functionally with computational, chemistry, and protein science teams. Lead from the bench to drive exploratory projects to key decision points, manage and mentor junior scientists, and contribute to department strategy. Regularly communicate findings to program teams and present at company-wide meetings. This biologist role supports Superluminal's generative biology platform, which uses deep biology, machine learning, and proprietary data infrastructure to accelerate small molecule drug discovery.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biology or related field
- 8+ years experience in industry
- Significant hands-on experience in cell-based assay development, execution and interpretation across a broad range of assays and platforms (functional, target engagement, kinetic, plate-based, flow cytometry, high content imaging)
- Demonstrated success leading and driving exploratory and early discovery projects to key decision points
- Experience managing direct reports and mentoring junior scientists
- Creative, self-motivated, willing to take risks and thrives in a high-performing, fast-paced environment
