Job Summary
Associate Director / Director of Translational Science role focused on translating complex molecular profile data into evidence-based treatment options for cancer patients. Develop treatment strategies prioritizing SOC, trials, and expanded access when appropriate; interpret trial data, biomarker subgroups, and real-world feasibility; communicate findings to patients and care teams; partner with computational biologists to integrate and synthesize patient molecular data; coach and supervise translational science team members; contribute to internal knowledge bases and trial digests; support R&D efforts to advance Valius’s scientific offering. In-person role based in Boston or San Francisco, collaborating with oncology clinicians, patients, and scientists across disciplines, with a strong emphasis on clear, compassionate patient communication and data-driven decision making.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline with substantial oncology experience
- Strong oncology fluency across modalities and tumor types
- Deep understanding of the oncology therapeutic landscape
- Expert ability to interpret clinical trial evidence and apply it to real-world patient contexts
- Experience presenting complex information to patients confidently, clearly, and empathetically
- Ability to reason from molecular data to therapy hypotheses while respecting evidence strength, contraindications, and real-world practice patterns
Desired Qualifications
