Job Summary

Embed with complex, high-priority products and related teams to accelerate Amgen's Digital Product Operating Model adoption. Serve as a senior hands-on player-coach to Digital Product Managers, guiding them through advanced skills in problem framing, discovery, strategy, and outcome-based roadmaps. When no DPM is assigned, directly shape product direction, align stakeholders, define outcomes, and support roadmap prioritization decisions. Partner with cross-functional leads to clarify roles, decision rights, and operating rhythms while identifying capability gaps and adoption barriers. Connect enterprise strategy to product outcomes, help teams shift from output-oriented delivery to empowered, outcome-driven practices, and resolve cross-product dependencies. Contribute insights to the Product Management Hub to refine playbooks and standards, then transition teams to sustain these practices post-engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience
  • Master's degree and 5 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience
  • Associate's degree and 12 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 14 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience

Desired Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in digital product management, including product strategy, discovery, road mapping, prioritization, delivery, and outcome measurement
  • Experience owning or leading complex, interdependent, high-priority products or product initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, or upskill product managers, product owners, business partners, and cross-functional team members
  • Strong product management craft, including user and customer problem definition, product discovery, roadmap development, OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, investment trade-off recommendations, and value realization
  • Experience influencing senior business, technology, product, engineering, data, compliance, and adjacent product stakeholders without formal authority
  • Ability to operate as a senior hands-on player-coach, balancing direct product leadership with coaching and capability building
  • Proven ability to help teams shift from output-oriented delivery to outcome-oriented product management
  • Strong judgment in ambiguous environments, including the ability to frame complex problems, resolve dependencies, make trade-off recommendations, and create practical paths forward
  • Experience contributing to product operating models, playbooks, standards, templates, training, or adoption approaches
  • Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, or other regulated industries
  • Candidates from high-tech, digital, consulting, or product-led organizations
  • Familiarity with AI-native product development, generative AI workflows, responsible AI principles, and the evolving role of AI in product management
