Job Summary
Associate Director, Commercial Operations Field Strategy & Execution leads field enablement initiatives by partnering with business and field leadership to translate strategy into prioritized commercial operations projects, define a portfolio of field enablement initiatives, and ensure timely training and delivery. The role requires translating strategy into operational goals, coordinating cross-functional teams, driving quarterly business planning, and continuously improving processes and tools to enhance field effectiveness. The ideal candidate has 8-10 years in sales/commercial operations, strong program/project management and CRM experience, launch-readiness expertise across data management, field operations and training, and excellent communication and analytical skills. This position is based in Boston, MA with Hybrid-Eligible work arrangement (up to two days remote per week) as part of Vertex’s Flex program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8-10 years of experience in sales, sales support, or commercial operations
- familiarity with CRM systems and technologies supporting field-facing activities
- extensive program/project management, demand management, resource management and prioritization experience
- experience in commercial launch readiness including planning across Customer Data Management, Field Operations and Training, Reporting & Analytics
- ability to translate broad business strategies and functional priorities into operational goals
- demonstrated success delivering large, cross-functional, complex projects on time
- exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
