Job Summary
Associate Director – Civil Engineering to provide technical leadership across data centre civil infrastructure projects, from site due diligence and masterplanning to detailed design and construction support. Collaborates with a broad, global team of engineers and specialists, mentors civil engineers, supports business development and client engagement, ensures design governance and regulatory compliance, and drives buildable solutions for earthworks, drainage, pavements, utilities and related civil works for data centre portfolios. Requires Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, and a proven track record leading complex civil infrastructure within multidisciplinary settings. Emphasis on governance, risk management, BIM proficiency, and stakeholder engagement (Local Authorities, utility providers, and clients) within the Data Centres sector.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent) or operating at chartered level with clear evidence of professional standing and leadership
- Proven experience leading delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects (ideally within data centres, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale development)
- Strong knowledge of planning, highways, drainage, and utility approval processes; experienced with Local Authorities, statutory bodies, and utility providers
- Demonstrated capability as Design Lead / Technical Authority within large multidisciplinary teams; governance, technical assurance, and risk management
- Understanding of BIM modelling and collaborative platforms
