Associate Director Civil Engineering

Job Summary
Provide civil engineering technical leadership for data centre and critical infrastructure projects, lead the design governance of infrastructure works (earthworks, drainage, pavements, utilities) for site development and construction, coordinate with ground, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers and other professionals across the UK and globally, support client engagement and business development, and mentor engineers to strengthen AECOM’s civil engineering capability in the data centres sector. This role requires Chartered status or equivalent, experience leading large multidisciplinary teams, and strong knowledge of planning and utility approvals, with hybrid working options available.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or equivalent at chartered level
- Proven experience leading complex civil infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of planning, highways, drainage, and utility approval processes
- Experience as Design Lead / Technical Authority in large multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of BIM modelling and collaborative platforms
