Associate Director - Building Structures

Job Summary
As the Associate Director in the Building Structures team, you will oversee project management, technical leadership, and delivery of multi-disciplinary design projects from inception to client handover. This role requires the development of innovative and sustainable designs, participation in tender bids, managing project fees, and providing technical solutions. You will lead a diverse team, mentor junior members, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues. Candidates should demonstrate significant experience in structural engineering design, strong project management, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND qualification in a relevant discipline
- Chartered (MIStructE / MICE) qualification
- Proven track record of successful design delivery in major projects and challenging multi-discipline building projects
- Project management and technical delivery leadership experience
- Significant experience in commercial and technical management of projects
- Excellent communication skills with project teams and clients
- Experience in team management and operations
- Solid experience in structural engineering design in various materials
- Detailed knowledge of national codes and standards
- Understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of design concepts
- Experience of managing client relationships and consultancy services
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with structural design software packages such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, Tekla Structural Designer & Tedds
- Experience with Revit, Rhino and Grasshopper is beneficial
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage commercial positions on projects
- Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members
