Job Summary
Provide technical accounting and auditing support to engagement teams across the firm, advising on the application of IFRS, FRS 102, and UK GAAP while assisting in resolving complex issues such as financial instruments and revenue recognition. Perform and support audit quality reviews, including engagement, in-flight, and post-completion file reviews, to identify areas for improvement and support remediation within the firm's system of quality management. Deliver technical training sessions to audit and accounting teams on evolving standards and develop internal guidance materials on emerging regulatory issues. This 37.5-hour hybrid role requires a Qualified Accountant (ICAEW or ACCA) with strong external audit experience. Required Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ICAEW or ACCA)
- Strong external audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 / UK GAAP
- Strong technical knowledge of ISAs (UK), ISQMs (UK) and Ethical Standards
- Proven experience in audit quality reviews (hot and/or cold file reviews)
- Good understanding of audit regulation and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical matters clearly and concisely
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a technical, audit quality, or compliance role
- Exposure to FRC/ICAEW regulatory reviews or inspections
- Experience dealing with complex or PIE/listed audits, including IFRS reporting
- Involvement in methodology development or audit policy setting
